The island of Bali is about 2,200 square miles in size and has been an established island for centuries. Located on the western side of the chain of islands that form the Lesser Sunda Islands, Bali receives many tourists throughout the year accommodating various luxury hotels in Bali. As it is very close to the equator, Bali has extremely warm, tropical weather. There are three main cities on the island—Denpasar (the capital), Singaraja, and Ubud.
Bali has numerous offerings for hotel accommodations; some are more central to the city while others are right on the beach. Segara Village Hotel Bali is located on Sanur Beach and within easy reach of many main attractions. Green Garden Hotel Bali is near Discovery Shopping Mall, Kuta Center, and South Kuta Beach; and another recmomended hotel the Bali Khama Beach Resort and Spa is farther from the city center but right on the white sand Tanjung Benoa Beach.
Bali is perfect for those who enjoy deep-sea diving or snorkeling because it is surrounded by colorful coral reefs. Southern regions of Bali have long white sand beaches, but in the north and west, black sand beaches are more common. The black sand beach areas tend to be less commercial and not quite as geared to tourism as the rest of the area. Most Bali hotels are filled with tourists who want to visit the well famed Blue Lagoon.
