Taman Harum means 'fragrant garden', and we were very pleased with our choice. Although it is quite a distance from Ubud (just south of Mas), the free shuttle service was available on demand, and we were able to enjoy the quieter location by the rice padi.
Breakfasts were very good, and we also dined there one night and were pleased with our meal.
Our villa had ample space, and was very comfortable. We had our own little elevated bale, with a view over the rice fields, and loved to sit out there at night and listen to the bullfrogs. The plumbing was not perfect, but we figured it, and even had a couple of late night soaks in our outdoor hot tub.
Its pool is small, which wasn't a problem, but it could do with a little more shade.
We did not take advantage of any of the extra services such as woodcarving and cookery lessons, partly through not finding time, but also these seemed overpriced by Balinese standards.
We would be very happy to go back to Taman Harum on our next Bali trip.- 07-Jul-2009 The sructure of the building is superb as you can really feel the balinese style of living.
The weak point of the hotel is, there's too many mosquitoes no matter day or night.- 16-Jan-2007 A nice hotel with friendly people and real Balinese rooms in a beautiful green, green garden. Great location for people who are into nice wood carvings. The wood carving gallery there is great...worth visiting.- 02-Jun-2004 |
