Definately not a 5*, maybe 3*, but couldn't grumble with either the location or price. Staff were very friendly and efficient even when they couldn't find our booking!!!! (took 2 hours to sort). The hotel itself was in need of updating, but all in all the rooms were very clean & the buffet breakfast included was vast. Would maybe return to their sister hotel The Cleopatra as it has rooms overlooking the sea.- 29-Mar-2008 The reception service was very good as was the bedroom cleaning and laundering etc. 5* the one thing that lets the hotel down is the service in the dining room. We and many other people had to clear tables and reset them ourselves simply because their was no staff it was total chaos every morning. Not a pleasant experience and it got worse as the week went on. Also I think perhaps the hotel could print out some information as to what the hotel has to offer and perhaps local information as this was the first hotel we have stayed that had no information booklet in the bedroom. My husband and I have stayed at this hotel before a few years ago and it was definetly a better experience the first time with 5* service all round. The bedrooms are looking very tired and need some TLC etc.- 24-Jan-2008 We stayed in the Med Palace for one week from the 10-17th March 07. Although the hotel looks impressive it does have it's problems. The corridors are covered in marble which looks very grand but amplifies every sound made. If someone lets their door bang close it will be heard at the other end of the hotel. There is no soundproofing in the rooms so you can hear everything going on around you. The only other complaint I had was the price of drinks in the bars, 4 Euro's for a beer seems steep to me, especially when you can get one just outside for between 1 and 2.5 Euro's. The entertainment will not suit everyone. However, during the week we stayed there was absolutely nothing that catered to our tastes so I'm sure the hotel could review this aspect.
The staff in the hotel were excellent and very helpful with any request. It's in a wonderful location and there are many bars and restaurants in the vicinity.- 20-Mar-2007 |
