The hotel was older but the staff was very accomodating and friendly. The only wish would be the warm water in the sink work, it didn't, but the shower warm water worked after about a 5 minute wait. The hotel was well worth the money though, I would stay there again!- 19-Feb-2008 It's more MOTEL than hotel. Even though Kawada is located in Downtown and next to the financial district, we did not feel safe walking in the area. Even in the early evenings, the area was very quiet and were frequented by many destituted people lingering on the streets. The facilities in the hotel are very, very basic. The floor we were on had a strange smell and there was no safe in the room to keep valuables. Worse, there was no running hot water. We showered in very luke warm water which soon ran out and turned into cold water - not good especially we were there during winter! Basically you get what you pay for, it's a no frills place, but because I felt unsafe in the area, I would not stay there again. - 17-Jan-2008 The hotel was good value for the price. However, I did not realize that breakfast was not provided ( and other guests were also in the same position).
The hotel was next to the Grand Central Market which was very interesting, with stores selling a variety of food. - 21-Jun-2007 |
