 This was a nice location but the hotel needed a maintenance check.- 11-Apr-2008 The hotel is tired and worn. The manager on duty was reluctant to give us a complementary continental breakfast even though the best rate of the day was significantly lower than the rate we had prepayed. There was no elevator and suitcases had to be carried down the stairs. The restaurant and bar had a limited menu and were pricey for the meals offered. It was convenient to the ferry to Wellington. We would mot stay there again and would not recommend to friends. - 22-Jan-2008 The acoustics in this hotel are absolutely dreadful. In your room you can hear 4 TVs (in addition to your own), hear people talking in rooms on either side of you as if they are in your room and listen to every foot fall outside and above you. The hotel is on 3 sides of a swimming pool and acts as an echo chamber for noise outside. There is zero soundproofing.
They have tarted up the reception but the standard rooms are shabby and in urgent need of refurbishment. Staff were helpful.- 31-Dec-2007 |
