The hotel is inexpensive, but still not worth the cost. The beds are small and not just firm, but like sleeping on a concrete block. There were four pillows, but stacked on top of one another they still didnīt make up one normal pillow. I shudder to think how old they were. The bathroom is small and the shower shorter than my 6ī4" height, so needless to say that didnīt really work out. If they give you the room in the basement at the front of the hotel ask to change. It is like being at the bottom of a well and all the noise and sound from the street echos down all night long. Good luck if you choose to stay there.- 01-Oct-2007 Much further down the road than I thought from Victoria Station. The hotel was quiet and comfortable with hot water and very good service. Good central location with many attractions nearby and good restaurants and pubs close at hand.- 04-Jan-2006 Our double room was really very small with just enough space for the bed and small wardrobe, more suited to be a single room really. Having said that, the bathroom was adequate and modern.
One negative point is the Hotel does not have a Lift and we had to climb 72 stairs to our room which is tiring after a day shopping, etc.
The reception is staffed 24 hrs though, which is good.
The dining room (breakfast only) was very small and cramped with guests having to queue to get a table.
On a whole, not bad value for money, mainly because of the location, the tube being very close by (for info: Pimlico is closer than Victoria), and a bus stop is right outside the Hotel. The hotel is close to a variety of shops, many restaurants, Sainsburys and a nice Pub, creating a 'village' atmosphere.
Think I would stay in this area again, especially this Road but will try another Hotel next time (every other building is a small Hotel)
