The Location is excellent and the rooms are a good size, the bathroom is well equiped. also the room cleaning is excellent. There is a smell of sewage constantly about the place. The Reception staff with one exception were off hand and generally unhelpful. They seemed to be constantly on the phone and never ever raise their heads to the guests. No matter what time we visited the Bar it was never open. There was no secure place to leave your luggage on your departure day. The room safe was a big benefit if expensive at a €1 each time you opened it.- 14-Feb-2007 You get what you pay for, so do not expect luxury. Rooms are tiny, and the chlorine smell is overpowering. It does not seem healthy to be breathing all this stench in, while having to deal with an overheated room or a non-functioning airconditioner. The mini bar had been raided when I arrived at the room, so had this sorted out immediately. Only one of the 2 doormen actually does his job well, the other likes to pretend he is a tourist so you have to open the door for him, not the other way around. I found the staff at reception to be personable and professional, and also multilingual. Internet access is not free, you pay EURO 3 for one hour. To ensure security of clients, gates are closed from midnight, but if you ring the bell you are allowed in immediately. Do not expect to see a lot of Hemingway. Apparently the restaurant is closed for dinner indefinitely. Great location, but be careful as to the right of the hotel is a mini red-light district. - 05-Dec-2006 Receptipn staff are very detailed with check in/out procedure.
The location is very central with loads of history (Ernest Hemingway lived and wrote about the Spanish civil war).- 10-Apr-2006 |
