This hotel is calling itself Backpackers Paradize. Its more like Backpackers Hell. Unfriendly, unmotivated staff. Security Staff shooting pool iso taking care of business. Rooms are not clean, interior is old and worn out. Management is unresponsive to claims.
Besides that, the hotel is in Inglewood, which is "The Hood". Its not a save area to stay at. The hotel is located on a boulevard which has a lot of traffic 24 hours per day. And if that ain't enough, the hotel is located right in the flight path to 2 runways at LAX. Don't be surprised to have a big jet knock you out of your bed at 4 AM.
I recommend that if you stay in LA, stay west of LAX and near the beach. Don't stay anywhere near the airport. Especially not in Tradewinds. - 21-Jan-2008 the noise from other local people staying there really did it for me, woken at 2am every night. There was a fight one night in the bar area also. The hotel is old and shows its age, the area was a bit rough but could be worse.I would not stay there again.- 16-Nov-2007 This hotel is very close to the airport, but the area is not so nice. Because of this, the hotel offers a free service to and from the airport [just ring from the airport and the free shuttle bus will pick you up within 15 minutes]. Also there is a daily free service to a Westfield shopping centre, to Venice beach and to the Marina del Rey at noon. Free champagne hour, free food hour, small restaurant, cosy bar, heated swimming pool, internet access [$1 = 10 minutes] fridge in rooms but no kettle, comfy beds and fantastic lights in the bathrooms. Ask staff for info about local buses to downtown locations before you spend a squillion on taxis. Wonderful mix of guests so there's always someone to chat to.
I'd stay there again anytime.- 21-Oct-2007 |
