The Tijcal I is a unique hostel located within 20 metres of the traditional Plaza Mayor and the only one in the pedestrian area. This property is situated in the heart of Madrid, only 2 blocks from the traditional Puerta del Sol and 5 blocks to the Royal Palace and the Almudena Cathedral. The commercial area of Madrid, theatres, cinemas, bars and discos are within walking distance from the hostel.

 Small hotel with excellent location, though a little noisy. Small but adequate rooms. Free wireless internet connection. Please note that breakfast and air-conditioning incur extra charges. Overall, good value for money and fantastic location.- 16-Sep-2008 As with a lot of hostels in madrid,it is only a part of the building and shares the entrance with private owners of apartments,the reception is on the third floor.there is no camera in the entrance hall where i had a close call with a pickpocket who had obviously blagged his way into the building because the the front door is always locked.if you are used to hostels its great but if not,pay a little extra for 24 hour reception and peace of mind- 06-Jan-2008 Excellent location just off Plaza Mayor. Room was compact but I was travelling alone so space was not an issue for me. I had access to everything I needed including a safe at a very reasonable cost. My stay was at the end of October so I did not need to use the air conditioning system and therefore can't report on it's efficiency.
