Nice exterior and lobby. However the rooms are very disappointing. We have no idea what contractor was used for the 'renovation' but the room doors don't close or open properly, the paint on the windows frames (or windows!) and the bathroom tiling are appalling, the windows are covered in grime and so are the curtains. The breakfast was good but the sitting arrangements very uncomfortable. Overall we were happy to leave the hotel and will never return- 24-Oct-2007 The Braxton Hotel is in an excellent location but my guess is that it has not been remodeled since WWII. Everything is more or less worn out and falling apart. The breakfast provided is fine though there really is nowhere to sit and eat it, the rooms are cleaned daily but the walls and carpets are so old that you can hardly tell and the staff is very helpful with solving problems and answering questions. Everything in my room worked which is a definite plus - shower, toilet, TV, air conditioner. I felt safe within the hotel even thought the doorlocks are the same as on your home bathroom. The price is low but unless your budget is really strained, this isn't a hotel to stay in for more than one night (if your demands are very low).- 19-Jul-2006 If you want your experience to be pristine, this is not the hotel for you. While the beds are comfortable, the decor and quality of the rooms is substandard. If like me you are looking for good location and inexpensive as #1, this is an excellent value. Just remember that you get what you pay for. I would stay here again, but only if I could not find a good rate for better quality elsewhere in the area.- 13-Jun-2006 |
