The trip to the hotel was an adventure as we almost missed the turning and ended up at a dead-end. Luckily we managed to get directions from the local police. My family and I arrived slightly after the check-in time. We discovered our room was not fully made up yet, missing a few items. It also took the hotel a whole day to supply us with the additional towels which we requested for. We did find the food over-priced but didn't have any other choices as driving out at night is a hazard with no eating places nearby. The plus points which we did like are the friendly staff even though their service was slow. The kids also enjoyed the pool. There is a small section of beach, but after finding jelly-fishes in the waters, we had to restict the kids from going into the water. Overall, I'd say that as long as you keep to the pool and take the trip out to the island, this is the place for a short getaway with the family but any longer will cost dearly for your meals. - 15-Dec-2006 Overall, the hotel was great with lots of facilities. Breakfast for vegetarians was a bit boring. The chef was brilliant and cooked special meals for us in the evenings, as they did not cater for vegetarians. The appartment we stayed in was self catering; but NO crockery, pots or cutlery was provided. In addition, the site had NO general store where you could buy cooking provisions, disposable plates etc. So, the self catering aspect was not an option.
Location wise,a lovely area. Although there were many guided tours here, a car would be very useful. Both the hotel and appartment staff were very helpful and tried to meet our needs. The appartments are ~15 mins walk from the hotel. All the main facilities are sited at the hotel with a reasonable shuttle service between the two.
The appartments were very spacious and very good value for money. We would hire a car if we stayed here again.- 04-Jan-2006 |
