 Lovely accommodation in a quiet Hutong. Great food provided as a free breakfast and offered a bagged breakfast for us on the morning of our early departure. Close to great restaurants and shops. We also enjoyed their tour to the Great Wall and Chang Tombs that included a stop at a cloisonne factory and a jade factory and culminated with a fabulous foot massage.
Only draw back was finding a taxi willing to take us to the hotel; as many as nine drivers told us they didn't know where it was. The drive down the narrow street was very tricky and I wondered if the drivers who refused us were reluctant to squeeze their vehicles through the narrow alley.
I would love to stay there again.- 17-Apr-2008 I think Sihe Courtyard is good for people who want to experience local experience life ih Hutong. I was glad that I had chance to do so but once is enough for me. The room is clean. The staff is helpful but I found the room is very small and it's quite hard for the taxi to find the hotel at night time. Also I think the hotel could have done better with the breakfast. Anyway, I enjoyed my stay at this hotel. - 30-Mar-2008 A quiet oasis in the middle of Beijing. Authentic 19th century in old-fashioned authentic hutong with upgraded modern bathrooms yet antique furniture and bed. Great for a romantic visit to Beijing. Only problem was my room had a moldy smell in the bathroom--I was shown another room that did not have this problem, so I don't know if it is common. Also hard to find by taxi, so get the location and directions in Chinese before you get in a cab to find it. Service was 5-star.- 20-Nov-2007 |
