 For £33 I wasn't expecting much, but was presently surprised. Less than 10 minutes for Birmingham City University Perry Barr campus so good for me location wise. Fairly clean but very dated decor and rooms - my TV was one of those that you push a button and other buttons pop out - yes about 20 years old!! So TV reception not always the best. There is also free wireless internet (this would cost £15 in some hotels!) but you have to ask and was not advertised. Depending on your room is the reception you get on wifi though as one room did not get it. Basic showers and breakie - basically toast plus a few other bits and cereal and tea\coffee. No place to eat in the evening but if you travel for 5 mins you can find decent food.- 17-Aug-2008 As a disabled traveller it would have been nice to have offered some help to carry my bag, but none forthcoming. Hotel had been informed of disability at time of booking but no mention that rooms upstairs and no lift available.
Room very pleasant, Edwardian style fittings & furniture but lacking centre curtain & bed side light bulbs. Unable to report problems as owner had gone out & we did not return to the hotel until early hours.
Breakfast adequate, but would have been better if milk had not been solid, it was the consistency of yoghurt and obviously off!
