 The hotel is situated near the lake and gardens, which makes it an excellent location for walks around the lake, the islands, gardens, etc. Unless you get a room on the top floor over the trees to get a good view, opt for the less expensive rooms.- 07-Sep-2005 Our room and bed (West wing) are reasonably comfortable, although bed linen was not quite nicely pressed, which is somewhat unusual for a 5-star hotel. The bathroom is clean but small, and it does not provide enough desk/top for laying toiletry bags. Good thing is that the towels are so white so felt they were clean. The location is great if your aim is to visit the Lake.
The check-in, and check-out, at Reception Desk took soooo long. Although they tried to be courteous, there was no eye contact during the processs so the service was cold. The staff at Concierge, however, were very friendly and helpful. They gave us good advice so we had a good time at the end.
Overall, I think the hotel (esp our room) looks a bit tired, and its service should be improved. With a few new hotels in the city nowadays, we will likely try different one next time when we are there.- 07-Sep-2005 Our room (282) had no view; it overlooked a roof and a wall. I cannot understand why we were placed in this room since the hotel was half empty. There were other rooms with excellent views. Guests should check out the view before settling into their room and ask for a change if necessary, Unfortunately we did not do this and regretted that we did not.The facilities were otherwise excellent and the staff were very professional. The location of the hotel is outstanding. It is located on the West Lake, one of the most beautiful areas of the city. It is not close to commercial areas, but these are readily aqccessible by inexpensive cab. There are a few shops and restaurants near the hotel. - 07-Sep-2005 |
