We absolutely loved this hotel - we had an excellent room on the ground floor where we could sit outside and watch the sun set over North Sydney whilst drinking a glass of champagne that was easily purchased from the hotel bar. For first time Sydney visitors, it is tucked away - we know Sydney very well so knew where we were going. Very close to the Rocks restaurants and that end of town. Very relaxed, bed was extremely comfortable, it's an upmarket hotel with a difference. The renovations have been done exceptionally well. Would highly recommend staying there.- 06-Aug-2007 Nice hotel, the floorboards underneath the carpet of the hotel tends to squeak alot. Very bad when sleeping and someone is walking about in the hallway.- 07-Jan-2006 We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The inside of the hotel has a good blend of modern architecture and decor, whilst still keeping some of the old features and style of the building.
Our room was a very good size with a cathedral ceiling with all mod cons that you would expect.
The staff were very friendly and helpful.
Wide selection of delicious foods for breakfasts (well, we ate for breakfast and lunch) in the large dining room, with great views by the water on the harbour.
In a quite part of The Rocks adjacent to the Harbour Bridge it is only minutes walk to George Street, the Rocks Market, etc. Great place as a base to explore Sydney.
