Shower Facilities were very poor- 27-Jul-2008 The St. Gothard is a little run-down as a building though this is quite clearly reflected in the most reasonable pricing. The staff are friendly and polite, and they look to keep the building as clean as it can be and the towels are replaced every day. A lot has been said by other reviewers about a smell in the place, it doesn't smell of bleach and cleaning products but it's nothing to complain about. Basically the hotel is in a brilliant location for walking round Nice (1 minute from SNCF station and airport bus, 1 minute from the shopping high street, approx 10 minute promonade past the shops to the sea front), it costs next to nothing, and breakfast (with a fairly civil 10am finish) is thrown in too! If you're want a luxury hotel this isn't for you, if you want a B&B location to see the best of Nice and the Cote d'Azur go for it!- 13-Sep-2007 Seems to be in the red light district. Room I had was awful - single with very poor decoration and not very clean. Off hand reception was outwardly friendly but indicated that it didn't really matter what we thought of the rooms as we were only there for one night. Definitely well below what I expected from a two star hotel. - 15-Jul-2007 |
