The hotel was fine but the pricing was a bit over the top. - 15-Aug-2007 The only 5 star hotel in the area, and a very good place to stay. Please note that all hotels in the area attract a premium price for location, meaning that this hotel is not as good as equivalent priced 5 star hotels elsewhere. Also note that the food choice for vegeterians was unusually bad for a top hotel. Nevertheless I would recommend the hotel for anyone wishing to stay in the area.- 07-Sep-2005 We stayed at Sails in the Desert - in a spa room. The room was large and the jacuzzi on the patio was enclosed with shutters to allow privacy if desired. The hotel was obviously a bit older, but still in overall good shape.
We tried the buffet (Winkiku?) at Sails at the very end of the evening. The service was excellent, and the food was plentiful, but not extremely tender or tasty (this may have been due to the lateness of the hour).
Housekeeping could use improvement. The toilet was dirty when we arrived (not just the mineral stains on the bowl that were ''explained'' on a separate note from management) - it had obviously not been well cleaned. The shower curtain was wet and smelly when we arrived - it had not been changed prior to our visit. When we asked for both problems to be addressed, the shower curtain was replaced, but the toilet was only minimally cleaned. Staff was very friendly at all locations.- 07-Sep-2005 |
