Location
Sabah Hotel sits on top of the hill overlooking the town of Sandakan. This is a small town on the East of Borneo that is the stepping-stone to the rest of Borneo, the world's last unspoilt rainforests of The Land Below The Wind. Sandakan Airport is a 20 minute taxi ride with excellent connecting air service via Kota Kinabalu from Kuala Lumpur, Singapore and Hong Kong.

 The pool looked nice though we didn''t have time to try it out. It''s a good base for a night before heading off to less comfortable accommodation. Why is there only one breakfast with the room? Even the hotel staff we puzzled by this and worked out it was cheaper to book a deluxe room where breakfast is included than to have the cheaper room and pay for one breakfast.- 07-Sep-2005 Loved the hotel and staff was good. However, you need to make sure your front desk personnel is more knowledgeable!! A little girl with poor English and little knowledge about everyday things such as possibilities to fax, bus service etc is not good.- 07-Sep-2005 The rooms are large although some maintenance was required (basin was cracked). However, this was more than compensated by the friendly staff, wonderful swimming pool and great restaurant. Very good value for money and would recommend the hotel to others.- 07-Sep-2005 |
