 Stayed at Skycity Auckland because it was rated #1 on trip advisor. I prepaid the room for two nts. but when arrived they did not have the reservation. They didn't apologize. After the 1st nt they called to ask if we where staying another nt. Front desk including manager was not very friendly or accept any responsibility. Concierge staff extremely helpful and knowledgeable. Rooms need updating and smelled a little and found a roach in the room.- 22-Feb-2008 A good hotel in a convenient location. We arrived at 1:15 a.m. due to a delayed flight and were very warmly welcomed and attended to. Room on level H2 was normal size with a nice and comfortable king sized bed, though the view looked out over TV New Zealand. A minor down side was the long walk from the lifts to the room. Rang room service to get a corkscrew but it never arrived. Mini bar was not stocked with everything on the list. Room was left clean and fresh each day after servicing. There is always a lot of activity going on in the foyer as the hotel is popular with many tourists, due to the casino. There was a bit of noise at times, especially on Friday and Saturday nights. Lots of things to see and do at this hotel, though the casino was a bit uninviting. Had a great time overall and would recommend the hotel to other travellers.- 28-Nov-2007 The hotel is the center of the city itself. Nice and quiet although in the middle of everything. A lot of services proposed, excellent big&clean rooms, all facilities provided. Pitty that they do not allow late check-out free of charge as this would be a great for european or US travellers. For visiting Auckland, there is no other place in the city that can be better than this hotel. Free shuttles for main attractions in Auckland, they all leave from in front of the hotel. - 23-Oct-2007 |
