We stayed her on 2 evenings with a 3 day break in between whilst we visited another location.
When we arrived for the first evening we were allocated a room on the seventh floor. Whilst the hotel appeared far from full, this was obviously a lesser area to the main part of the hotel.
The carpet and fittings of the room were very warn and cleaning had been done with less care than it should, to say the least.
On our return we were allocated a room on the 6th floor and found this room to be far worse than the first. Not only was in not adequately cleaned but a tap in the bath dripped, (and obviously had been for a considerable time) as did a tap in the handbasin.
The Bed was extremely tired. I don't think I have had such an obviously "passed its prime" bed ever before, even in $30/night hotels in central America.
Queenstown is a tourist town with plenty of accomodation options so choose another- 08-Nov-2009 Great location especially if you book a lakeview room. Nice walk into town via the lake shore, staff were excellent - 17-Jul-2009 The hotel looked so grand but we were very disappointed with the room. The paint on the cupboard above the fridge was peeling off and this is used as the coffee making area. The clothes hook in the bathroom was missing and there is no ventilation as well. The carpet is worn and the rooms on level 9 were just above the road where the tour buses park so you can hear them starting their engines early in the morning. - 11-Feb-2009 |
