The Royal Peacock Hotel is in a very good location and it is easy to get around Singapore from this point. Being in Chinatown also had its advantages as far as cheap eating and shopping goes. The only real down side to the hotel was the room had no windows but for the short time you spend in your room I guess it doesn't really matter. For the price I had no complaints and would suggest it to other travellers on a budget.- 29-Jun-2008 It is not bad for a cheapish hotel there were evidence of mosquitos in the room on arrival and the airconditioners are noisy. But the atmosphere in the hotel and the location at least gives you some inpression that you might be in the orient - most of Singapore doesnt! Staff are very friendly.- 02-Jul-2007 The room we stayed in was cramped and didn't have a window, but the bed was comfortable. Breakfast was uninspiring but the hot food was hot, only a 2 slice toaster was available, so there was a queue for toast. This aside, the hotel is close to Chinatown and in a quiet street. For a 1 night stay it was value for money, I wouldn't want to stay longer than that. The reception staff were friendly and they didn't charge to store luggage after we had checked out or to call a taxi.- 06-Sep-2006 |
