Staff are friendly and the hotel is in a good location- 02-Apr-2009 Reception very efficient and friendly, the room was small but clean, had all the usual equipment with a fabulous bathroom, the only problem was that there was no lamp near to the bed, breakfast was a buffet but plentyful variety to choose from and staff very friendly again and helpful, the food in restaurant in the evening was lovely I tried their haggis, staff in the restaurant were efficient if a little clipped in their attitude to be fair they were very busy.
The location is amazing, it is right by the railway station (but I didn't hear a single train) and very easy to get to from the airport bus 11 takes you to just round the corner so unless you have heavy luggage you can save yourself the taxi fare.- 31-Mar-2008 The Royal Highland Hotel is clearly an old hotel. It is situated at the mainline Inverness railway station and is prsumably former British Rail, so you know the style of grand design.
I had a single room overlooking the glass roof of the station and as was dark there was nothing to see anyway, however it is presumably too difficult to clean the windows - they were covered in pigeon poo- but I think someone should give it a try!
The bed was comfortable, there is a trouser press and the bathroom was clean and modern.
There is a 20 percent discount off dinner and a second drink at half price so I ate in the Bistro bar. The food was excellent as was breakfast in the morning and as befits a Highland Hotel there was haggis on the menu!- 26-Nov-2007 |
