 For the price, my expectations of the hotel were low. I was pleasantly surprised. As I approached the hotel it looked dull & old in need of a refurb. Arrived at hotel at 10am & expecting 2 not be able to check in till 2pm (as hotel states) but the staff were v.accomodating & got us into our room at 10am
Positives:
-V.cheap
-Good location for seaviews (gd for whale watching) & local amenities
-Revolving restaurant a real feature-food good
-Within walking distance/v.short taxi ride to V&A waterfront
-Reception staff & maid service generally v.good (got the odd receptionist who was abrupt)
-Quick response to problems e.g safe not working, no room service menu
-Fairly clean rooms
-All inclusive breakfast v.good!
Negatives:
-Freezing cold everywhere in hotel luckily rooms had heating
-Winter renovation work going on, annoying drilling from 9.30am onwards
-Swimming pool closed due to refurb (plans look v.smart) never informed of pool closure
-TV reception poor- 18-Jul-2008 The hotel is located in an excelent position only a few hundred metres from the beach.
The rooms are not of high standard - but was okay for a few nights.The tv did not work ,there was no remote or hairdryer in the room either.

The first time, we stayed in one of the oldest rooms and it was impossible to sleep at night since the wind was blowing right in the room although the windows was shut tightly, but the second time we were on the 20th floor and the room was new and nice but the hotel needs renovation asap...- 07-Jan-2008 |
