Rio is a good hotel to day at overall. I found the following issues to be of particular concern:
1) Location - even though Rio has shuttles running to/from Paris and Harrah's every 30 minutes, waiting for shuttles can be a pain especially if you want to go to the strip more than once a day. Shuttles can be off schedule considerable depending on traffic
2) Cleanliness - The hotel was clean in general but the glasses in my room weren't very clean, even after the room was serviced.
3) Ambience - Rio didn't really feel like a casino where I would want to gamble much. The minimums were way too high at most tables and slot machines were quirky
4) Food - buffet, while it has good meat carving stations, was very limited. It certainly cannot be compared to the likes of Wynn or even Spice Market Buffet at Planet Hollywood.- 01-Sep-2009 Nowhere to sit in lobby if you just want to relax. Only sitting places forces you to gamble or drink or buy food.
Pool allows non-guests to come in. Pool closes too early at 6pm. Should be open much later...to guests only. Would have been nice to take a midnite swim when the temperature is 90 degrees.- 27-Aug-2009 |
