 The staff on reception where extremely friendly which was great after a long drive. Unfortunately many areas of the hotel smelt of damp and the hotel was well in need of a dust. I ran my finger over the small table in myroom and it was black, obviously hadnt seen a clean in a long time. Was very disappointed as i paid £71.00 for this room, maybe would have been worth the money had it been clean and had a tv as most hotel rooms nowadays. Will not be staying there again and would not recommend them either.- 09-Oct-2008 I stayed at the hotel for the Great North Run and was extremely disappointed with it. My single room was in the back of the hotel, where there was a very noticeable leak, they had a plastic tub by the wall to pick up water and the smell of damp was sooo over wellming. My room had lots of damp patches over one wall due to the leak and permantently smelt of damp. The heating was on all the time and therefore the room was far too hot, but it needed the heating because of the damp. The room was badly cleaned, it even had a wrapper on the floor left over from a previous guest. I personally did not sleep very well as I was waiting for creepy crawlies to turn up and they did. The service was ok and the food in the restaurant good. Breakfast was a very poor if you were having continental as it comprised of toast or cold pancakes?? In general the hotel was shoddy in all areas and needs a complete overall and I would never stay there again.- 08-Oct-2008 Everything was fine the breakfast was very enjoyable.- 28-Feb-2008 |
