We picked this hotel in Tsing Yi as we got into HK airport at 10pm and flew out at 10am so it was just a nights sleep that we wanted. Tsing Yi is closer to the Airport on the Airport Express that Kowloon or the Island.
It is about 10 mins in a cab ($20-30 HKD) from the express station to the hotel, and there is a cheap shuttle bus $2.60 HKD (bus no. 88F), although I would just get a cab as its easier and quicker.
I picked this hotel over the other Rambers on this site as it had a restaurant. However when we enquired as to where the bar was at 11pm we were told there was no where open expect the 7-11 store in the basement which was a bit disappointing.
The hotel is 30 storeys high and we were on the top floor which was a bit scary. The rooms are modern and minimalist. I liked them and they were new and clean especially the bathroom.
In a nutshell this hotel is good for a quick stop, but is a hotel in a residential area with not many amenities.- 15-Jan-2008 This is a great hotel, but don't plan to center your Hong Kong or southern China explorations around it. It is far from EVERYTHING.
The rooms are beautiful (if you want Internet access, ask before being assigned a room!). The building is fantastic. Nevertheless, there is nothing nearby of interest. Expect to spend at least an hour getting anywhere notable from this hotel. Aside from the Chinese equivalent to McDonalds and a convenience store, there are no sources of food nearby. The fast food place here is not as good as its sister franchises further north.
The Rambler Garden is an OK place to recover from jet-lag or wait for your flight, but I advise quickly finding a hotel closer to the action that you are interested in exploring if you want a base to operate from. - 17-Feb-2007 Not very easy to find - taxi driver didn't even know! Nice and clean inside and free internet access available (10MB). Room was small so nowhere to store 3 suitcases comfortably. Beds are hard - thats standard in HK I think. No safe in room - only at reception. Corridors v cold.- 02-Nov-2006 |
