 Railay Bay Resort & Spa has the potential to be a great hotel. It has a good location on the West Beach, 2 great pools, lovely grounds and beautiful natural surroundings. What lets the hotel down in a big way is the service. On our 1st day we sat down in the hotel restaurant for lunch waited for a good ten minutes, with staff standing around chatting and nobody came to serve us, so we walked out and went down the beach for lunch instead. In fairness, the service in the evening was much better and we eventually got used to the fact that no one ever smiled. We stayed in a basic, dated looking superior bungalow, but it was cheap and clean, so cannot really complain. It has to be mentioned that we did get a smile from some of the staff, after lots of effort on our part.- 07-Nov-2008 The hotel has nice facilities, but unfortunately poor standard of english. It was very hard to comunicate with the staff as they did not understand our needs. but the biggest problem with this place is not the hotel but the transport in and out, the boatmen are very rude and aggresive and would be the sole reason i would never tell any one to go to that location no matter what.- 05-Sep-2008 |
