General
The hotel houses a beautiful swimming pool and a wooden sundeck, all with views of the lagoon. The pool is lit up in the evening and is a popular place to enjoy a sundowner drink. For some outdoor fun, you can visit the local restaurants, stroll around the Knysna forest or try out something more adventurous like deep-sea fishing and bungy jumping.

 We booked a double room with a double bed which was confirmed and then they proceeded to give us a room with twin beds pushed together. We went back and complained and at first they were reluctant to give us a room with a double bed! It took some complaining and then another receptionist changed our room. We were annoyed as they obvioulsy had a room available so why not give it to us in the first place as per our booking? Service at breakfast was also poor as they were under staffed . We also found a maggott in our orange juice. Whilst this is not a reflection on Protea Hotels as a chain, we would not receommend the Protea Kynsna, next time preferring to stay in a local B & B.- 27-Nov-2007 |
