We had an absolutely amazing stay at Pestana Carlton Madeira. The views from our room were breathtaking, overlooking the harbor, Funchal old town, and cruise ships. The breakfast was extensive with made-to-order omelettes and a gorgeous terrace. The pool terrace was beautifully landscaped and the access to the sea for swimming was a definite plus. We also appreciated the great location, just a short stroll to town with wonderful restaurants to choose from. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay. I highly recommend this hotel and would love to return in the future.

The breakfast, served outside, was a delightful treat. The staff went above and beyond to assist us with restaurant reservations and even arranged for babysitting services. The pools were well-maintained and the entire hotel was spotlessly clean. the location, cleanliness, friendly staff, and amazing views made our stay unforgettable. We will definitely return.

We had a wonderful week at this hotel near the center of Funchal. The location was perfect, allowing us to easily explore the city and enjoy the beautiful Saint Catherine garden. Our room on level 12 had a breathtaking view of the sea. The facilities were excellent, especially the fantastic pool area with saltwater pumped up from the Atlantic. The breakfast was delicious and the service was top-notch. We couldn't have asked for a better family-friendly hotel.

We did experience some noise disturbance from the nearby main road, particularly the scooters.

I recently stayed at the Pestana Carlton for a week with my mother and it was the perfect break. The staff were friendly and attentive, the facilities were clean, and the view of the sea and pool from our balcony was magnificent. The range of food options was great, and we enjoyed lounging by the beautiful and immaculately clean pool. The hotel's location was ideal, with many restaurants and bars nearby, and the Old Town was just a short walk or bus ride away. We would happily return to this hotel in the future.

The complimentary breakfast was great, with plenty of choices and constantly refreshed food. The staff at the bar were attentive and made great drinks. The hotel had a great location close to fabulous bars and restaurants.

The service in general was lacking and not very friendly particularly the restaurant staff. The pool area was overcrowded and impossible to find a sun lounger due to the high number of guests.

Great ocean view room, spacious with friendly staff. 3 pools, one with ocean view. Beach access for swimming, snorkeling, surfing, and diving. Welcoming reception and hardworking restaurant staff. Good breakfast and helpful pool boys providing umbrellas.

I recently stayed at Pestana Carlton in Funchal for a relaxing vacation. The hotel has a perfect location near the city center, with plenty of restaurants within walking distance. The ocean view from the room was breathtaking and worth the extra cost. The rooms were clean and though they had a slightly old-style decor, I found them charming. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the breakfast provided a good variety of options to start the day.

My partner and I recently stayed at the Pestana Carlton Ocean Resort Hotel for a few days. The location was fantastic, right on the ocean front and just a short 8-minute walk from Old Town and the bus stop. We loved being able to enjoy the beautiful view from our pool-front room, which was both relaxing and quiet. The hotel had a great atmosphere, catering more towards older couples rather than families. We took advantage of the easy access to the Atlantic Ocean for a swim, and it was a bonus knowing there were no sharks to worry about. The staff were incredibly friendly, polite, and helpful throughout our stay. The buffet breakfast was a highlight, with a wide variety of delicious hot and cold options, as well as a fresh omelette station and even a Mimosa station. Our comfortable room had a great balcony view, and we also enjoyed the main pool and the convenience of the on-deck bar/restaurant. We found the hotel facilities to be top-notch and were even glad to discover a cozy pub through a door in reception. we rate this hotel as one of the best we've stayed in, leaving us feeling relaxed and refreshed.
