 Reception very friendly and efficient, booking in very quick, all the hotel was very clean and tidy, rooms nice size but a bit seventy’s, flat pack comes to mind. Apart from this rooms have good facilities, plenty of parking. Nice breakfast plenty of choice. Location nice and quiet yet only a short walk to the main sightseeing and shopping areas. Never ate any meal apart from breakfast so can not comment on the food in the restaurant but would not fancy eating there as the restaurant does not look or feel like a place I would spend an evening.
Usually stay at the royal York hotel but will stay here in the future, great value for a city hotel.- 27-Dec-2007 Location was good as it was near to the centre of York. However, the triple room we asked for consisted of a double bed and 2 camp beds - for the price we paid i do think this was below par. Also the service at breakfast was not great. The food was nice however. The price of the hotel was very expensive for the facilities and service we were given.- 17-Oct-2007 Excellent location, just a 5min walk along the river to the town centre and wetherspoons. Food in the hotel very expensive but great food at the Masons arms (pub as you meet road opposite wetherspoons) be prepared to wait for a seat though gets very busy. Pool only suitable for children, very small and pub is not a pub it is a partitioned off area of main reception.
