 the lunch and evening meals are acceptable, although of decidely average quality but the breakfasts are consistently dreadful. Scrambled eggs are usually burnt, food in bain maries cold, there seems to be never enough staff so you have to go searching for cutlery yourself because tables have not been re-set; continental buffet boring.
In all other areas the Novotel is a good hotel, but the food quality, particularly at breakfast lets it down.
