The hotel is conveniently situated at the heart of the potteries in the centre of Stoke-on-Trent.

All of the 88 guest rooms have traditional decor and are fully equipped to give a feeling of comfort and home.
Restaurant
The restaurant emulates the Hotel's Jacobean style with a very traditional feel and charm. At the bar you can relax and unwind with a drink before your dinner of after for a night cap.
General
The hotel offers first class facilities whether attending a training course, conference, or private dinner party. At your free time you can visit the various regional attractions like the Stapeley Water Gardens, the world's largest water garden centre and Waterworld Indoor Tropical Aqua Park that are close by.

 The hotel is opposite the Stoke station, so good for the University but far from City centre and any services.
This is a huge old Victorian establishment; impractical and a bit shoddy. Expect dusty carpets, cold showers - but on the positive side, at least my room was huge. Unfortunately, almost all of the old-time charm it must once have had seems to have been renovated away long ago.
No facilities - at least none were open in the winter - except a tired guest lounge and a horrible bar at the back.
In summary: practical if you need to be near the station, but no quality for money.- 31-Oct-2007 Ideally located opposite Stoke-on-Trent railway station. Easy bus connections from the hotel including daily seasonal service to Alton Towers theme park. An old-style railway hotel with good size rooms. Hot English breakfast buffet, although on one day several of the items had been left on the hotplate for too long. Pleasant staff. Second stay here and will happily use again.
