The hotel looks tired and needs updating. The pillows were well past the use by date. bed linen and towels were old worn and frayed but clean.
cleanliness of the room was fair. Reception was good. quick to book us in, arrange an early breakfast and polite. The breakfast was excellent.
The restaurant was very clean. We booked online and paid only £60 for a double room including breakfast so if you don't mind taking your own sheets, towels and pillows it was cheap but we will not be staying there again.- 14-Apr-2008 Some of the hotel rooms situated at the old block needed to be upgraded. Some of the sheets provided had cigarrete butt stains. But the rooms at the newer wing were much better. The hotel is a walking distance to the shopping areas and the staff are helpful.- 09-Apr-2008 I am an experienced business man having spent many days and nights in hotels in the UK and Europe. My comments about the Norfolk hotel are as follows :- I found the hotel and my bedroom in particular to be in poor decorative order. The bed had a top cover which had holes in from cigarette burns and a strange unclean odour came from the pillows blankets and bed. I found the staff to be unfriendly. The lounge had a huge TV screen which dominated the room and made it impossible to read a paper because of poor lighting and noise. The furniture was very old tired dirty and worn.I expect when I have driven 300 miles to find a peace haven for me to chill out and rest but I found no area such as this in the hotel. I had stayed in this hotel about 15 years ago when I rated the hotel highly. It is the worst hotel I have stayed in for many years. - 06-Dec-2007 |
