 The staff were friendly and the rooms fine. On the slighly negative side, the main restaurant was a bit lifeless (but this is not the only hotel to suffer from this!)and the internet access a bit expensive. But on the whole, very good value for money. As a place to stay for a few days holiday, you could not ask for much more at that sort of price. The location is a little way from the action of the Old Quarter in the centre of town: but this was a minor problem since taxis were easy and cheap. On the other hand, the marvellous Lenin Park next door to the hotel made up for being a little bit away from town. Excellent for jogging. - 07-Sep-2005 We booked one of the Parkview deluxe room, which was big and comfortable. The bath tub offers you a view of the city, if you''re willing to bathe in plain sight of all. The service is immaculate and the staff helpful. Being a Japanese hotel, the breakfast was healthier than most. However, the view promised wasn''t there. We had read that the hotel sits near a lake. After arriving there, we found that the lake had been drained and the government appear to be building something there. So much for the view! location wise - it''s about 10 minutes drive to the center of city.The hotel provides reference for booking tours, but it''s expensive to book through them, unless you really want a tour guide just for yourself. Otherwise, head to the city center, there are a few other places where you can book a tour cheaply. - 07-Sep-2005 |
