 Very happy with our stay at the New World Lodge. Our room (412) was very clean and comfortable. The beds were great! The hotel is not on the main road, it's down a side street and taxi drivers do seem to have a problem find it (so make sure you take a hotel card so you can get back). Walking distance to Khao San Rd, and even better Rambuttri Street (I highly recommend going here for beers). Internet access is pricey. The breakfast is basic, with mostly Asian food, but there's toast & coffee if you don't want Asian.- 25-May-2008 I liked this hotel in spite of a few flaws.
I stayed in a deluxe room priced in the mid $30s. It was large with a very comfortable king size bed. The staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel is close to most of the major historic and cultural sites as well as the river and the Kao San rd. tourist area.
My only complaints were the sub-par bathroom that was never cleaned very well (a common problem in this price range in BKK) and the noise. With concrete floors and brick walls, sound really carries in this hotel.- 26-Jun-2007 The hotel was an easy walk from the airport bus stop at Kao San Road.
