This hotel seriously needs to be downgraded to two stars, and barely that. The only positive thing I can say is that it is located reasonably close to many of the city's attractions.- 14-Sep-2007 Soviet era decor and plumbing - definitely not a hotel for the "sensitive" traveller. Good location and great price. The best bargain hotel in the city.- 25-Jun-2007 My single room had beautiful wood parquet flooring but it squeaked due to age. The shower is a pipe coming from the wall in the bathroom with a drain in the floor. One can literally use the toilet, wash hands in the sink and take a shower all at the same time. Rooms could use renovation. Wallpaper is old and stained, as well as the ceiling in the bathroom. The bed was comfy the first two nights but then the mattress bore an indentation in the middle that would not go away. There are no sheets as Americans know them on the bed. A rug was used as a blanket for a bedspread. There were parties going on in the restaurant every night until 2 or 3AM. The night staff was friendly to a point and spoke fairly good English, but they can only answer very basic questions. There is a huge hearty buffet breakfast every morning in the restaurant --the food is varied and unusual, but for the most part was quite tasty (with the exception of the eggs and oatmeal). - 29-May-2007 |
