 Good location. Good price. Acceptable for 1 knight stay.- 27-May-2009 My wife and I stayed at the National Hotel for 6 nights in December and at the time of booking were looking for a good basic hotel close to the main Railway Station and at a reasonable price. The National Hotel certainly fitted this criteria (cost approx AUD 165 per night) with the hotel being within 100 metres of the Station. Rooms including the bathroom were an excellent size and very clean, although the subsequent daily servicing of the rooms was somewhat ordinary with staff only re-filling the soap and shower gel containers upon request. Beds were also of a reasonable quality. The tariff also included an excellent buffet breakfast which comprised both a varied hot and cold selection.
Other features include free internet access for guests and a bar (one complimentary drink voucher per person was provided by hotel at time of check-in), although the hotel encountered bar staffing problems during our stay, hence the bar was not always managed during designated times.- 02-Feb-2009 People at the hotel, from front desk to maids were extremely effective and polite. And the facilities are, as always, elegant and attractive.
