Situated in the heart of Venice in a typical Venetian Calle, the Hotel Moderno is placed just a short walk from the famous Grand Canal and is very close to Santa Lucia train station. This property is also easily reachable from the Marco Polo Airport and the cruise terminal.

 It was a nice hotel, very close to the train statition and all the major attractions of the town. The room was quite small, but the price was the same :)
If you book this hotel, be aware that you will have to walk through a nasty tiny street ( which is basically 50 cm between the two buildings), but once you are inside the hotel it is fine.
Breakfast was good, but there are no enough tables, so you probably will have to wait for the place. - 22-Mar-2007 This hotel is in an excellent location. The service could be improved upon, but then that goes for all of Venice!! The room is small, but that is to be expected in Venice. It had hot water, clean sheets, and fresh towels daily. Food is very expensive there, so we recommened eating paninis on the go for a meal. There is a supermarket 3 or 4 bridges along the road which the hotel is on. If we had to return to Venice, we would stay there again. Also ask for the free scrambled eggs for brekkie (only made on request).
