This is a well priced and tasteful small hotel in the CBD. Although the rooms are not overly large they are well designed and spotlessly clean. A highlight is definitely the hot buffet breakfast which was excellent. The hotel even lays on a breakfast tray if you have to depart before the restaurant opens. There is wireless internet access, though its rather pricey; guests are better off picking up other local services( eg MySpot) which are much cheaper. The only downside is the location at night- the CBD is rather dead, but there are a couple of decent pubs in the vicinity that do a good selection of food. I would definitely stay there again. - 24-Mar-2008 I found the European charm of Miss Maud's infinitely preferable to the sterile uniformity of many well regarded chain hotels. The hotel is in a great location; it was an easy walk to the Art Gallery, restaurants, pubs and the shops. Initially I thought the room service menu was quite limited for someone like myself who prefers vegetables, but the restaurant manager offered a few suggestions and I ended up enjoying a delicious meal in my room when I was too tired to eat out. The staff uniforms are a bit dated (and this influences one's first impression) but otherwise I found it an excellent, and reasonably priced, place to stay.- 26-Apr-2007 The hotel staff were friendly and helpful.
The room was spotless (very clean and fresh) and well furnished with two double beds which accommodated the whole family for the price of one room, excellent value. The laundary facilities were also excellent, with free washing powder.
The best part of our stay had to be the complimentary breakfast, the best we have ever had. How many hotels have over a dozen different typs of tea and three types of pancake? ''Well done, Miss Maud''s.''- 07-Sep-2005 |
