I stayed at the Metropole for the last three days of my trip. I had two days at a smaller hotel just around the corner for $35 per night The hotel was perfectly fine, maybe not as flash as the Metropole and did not have a pool. Considering all the hotels I stayed at in Vietnam I feel that the Metropole was a bit expensive, but I can't say a bad word about it. The only reason I stayed there was because of the pool!! Next time I would forget the pool and stay at a cheaper hotel, because they all have air con to cool you down from the oppresive heat!!- 14-Apr-2008 Location, location, location not taken into account here.
If you can accommodate that, the hotel itself is of reasonable "tourist" class.- 07-Apr-2008 Stayed at the Metropole in Oct 2007. A clean and well-run hotel. We checked in early and it was no problem. The staff were very friendly and helpful with information. The restaurant at the hotel served great Vietnamese food at reasonable Western prices. As we had a early check out and were provided with a take away breakfast. Only issue is the location. Not in the main tourist area of District 1.- 14-Oct-2007 |
