 We chose to stay in Treviso & take the train into Venice on the recommendation of a friend. The hotel was extremely good but the journey to/from Venice was a bit tiring in the heat. Also if your are travelling on any public transport in Italy make sure you have a ticket & that you stamp this on the bus/train etc. We had tickets but the machine did'nt stamp them properly & we ended up with a 30 euro fine because ticket inspectors got on the bus. I have a sneaky feeling they see tourists as soft targets. I saw the same thing happen to other tourists in Amalfi last year.- 17-Jun-2007 |
