 This hotel was ok if you just wanted a very basic place to stay for a couple of nights. The h otel staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast of cereal and toast was fine. The staircases, corridors etc were a bit scruffy, but the bed was clean and comfortable. Definitely not a place to stay if you want any sort of luxury! It did the job - thats about the fairest comment I can make.- 17-Feb-2008 nice hotel, had lots of character, good location - walking distance to the city and train station, as well as Oxford Street - convenient for grabbing a bite to eat on the way home.
Only problem I had was that I am pretty sure I had asked for non smoking, and on two nights of our stay smokers were put in the room next door - which might not have been an issue except there was an old door betwee the rooms which was not quite blocked off.
Had dinner from Alice's Restaurant one night.
a really nice meal for the price - and the convenience.- 04-Feb-2008 This is a typical Australian "pub" with accommodation above. The rooms are basic a bit spartan and of odd sizes. The elevator is often out of service and requires a special key in order to operate it which is very inconvenient. The hotel is conveniently located and represents reasonable value at the budget end of the market. - 29-Nov-2007 |
