This is an expensive hotel with all the outward signs of being so. However there are details you would expect in an hotel of this price that are not attended to. Bed sheets are made of polyester and the bed is far too soft. The restaurant food is below average and very expensive. They have a leisure centre with small swimming pool, jacuzi, sauna and steam room. The jacuzi was not warm enough and this whole facility looks tired and in need of updating.
On the plus side, the hotel is locatd within a 20 minute train ride from Edinburgh, and the trains are frequent and cheap. You need to take a taxi from the train station (Polmont) to the hotel, 8 minutes.- 10-Jun-2009 Room was very spacious but a little run down with paint flaking off the walls in the bathroom. Otherwise very nice.- 26-Sep-2007 The location has been given a rating of very good purely because it suited my particular purpose. I was visiting a company along Wholeflats Road.- 31-Oct-2006 |
