 We stayed at the London Elizabeth Hotel for 5 nights in March 08.
Negatives: the hotel is right next to a main road, the majority of rooms face it & are therefore noisy all night. Also, it is the first hotel we have stayed in without a kettle in the room. Not a major thing you might think, but we found it annoying & inconvenient. You can buy drinks from room service/the bar/the restaurant, but expecting people to pay for extras like this is poor. Also our shower hadn’t any hot water. We were offered option of showering in someone else’s room once they’d left & the room had been cleaned, but we insisted they moved us to another room. The second room was better (i.e. there was a bath & shower, both with hot water) but it was in the smoking section & stank of cigarette smoke seeping in under the door from nearby rooms. Also, tired décor overall & very average continental breakfast. Positives: Friendly reception service, clean room & excellent location right next to Hyde Park & tube.- 04-Apr-2008 the sheets and bathroom were clean, however the furnishing, sofas and the armchairs were in very bad condition. it was the oldest tv i've seen in the last years. breakfast was poor. no tea/coffee and boiler in the room. location is good.
