S. Polo 1612 Venice 30131
Location
In the ultimate Venetian quarter, in Rialto, among the picturesque fruit and vegetable market and the very characteristic fish market, a mere 2 minutes away from Rialto Bridge and 10 minutes from Saint Mark' Square, the hotel commands a privileged position from where to comfortably explore the alluring charm of Venice on foot.
Rooms
Truly pleasant and with an inviting ambiance thanks to the lacquered furnishings inspired by 18th-century Venetian style and the terracotta floors enhanced by red and gold fabrics, the rooms are bright and spacious and equipped with modern amenities.
Restaurant
The Locanda's best feature is the restaurant, the Antica Trattoria Poste Vecie and the first one to open in Venice back in 1500. It has been delighting patrons ever since with exquisite recipes spanning the Venetian tradition and the most innovative international cuisine, the whole accompanied by a selection of wines from the excellent cellar. Very inviting and featuring a large fireplace and original frescoes, it boasts a pretty garden which in summer becomes the perfect place to eat.
General
The excellent service and quality comforts make it a truly comfortable hotel in the heart of Venice.

Not far from the Rialto bridge and fish markets, location was very good and a easy walk to everything. Be aware venice is SO EXPENSIVE. Room was huge with a view looking over the canals.
B/fast was basic but plentifull. Hotel staff improved on our second day and were a little friendlier. Internet cafe is very close by in the back of a little shop for those who wish to do lots of emailing. Would stay in the hotel again purely for the room size and location.- 28-Jun-2007 The location is great for a base, when you can find it. The direction on the hotel site are good with a good map. Just basicaly keep going straight from the bridge. The en-suit shower was always hot and very clean and modern. Breakfast was basic and you could have to wait for a table during busy times. The rooms were bigger than i expected. I would recomend a stay.- 09-May-2007 We stayed in the hotel for three nights. We had a great room and newly fitted ensuite. The dining facilities were not great with little to eat for breakfast.Entry to the dining area was through an allyway leading to a kitchen then into a room that resembled a marque type structure.- 02-Nov-2006 |
