Location
Locanda Ovidius Hotel is located in a completely restored ancient building in the heart of Venice. The Hotel overlooks the Grand Canal and Rialto Bridge, the centre of Venice life and trade since oldest times. The hotel is strategically located in the San Polo district, at easy reach from the greatest cultural and fashionable attractions of the city.
Rooms
The Locanda Ovidius Hotel offers rooms that are furnished in 18th century Venetian style and equipped with several modern amenities. Guests can choose between rooms overlooking the Grand Canal and Rialto Bridge or looking at a calle, a typical Venetian street.
Restaurant
Guests can start off their day with a delicious breakfast served at the hotel's breakfast room. The bar is a good place for guests to relax while sipping their favourite drink.
General
Every floor includes an impressive living room with old paintings, mirrors and original Murano chandeliers. Every living room has a wonderful terrace with a view onto the Grand Canal and Rialto Bridge, where you can spend your time enjoying a long drink, looking at the sunset or the moonrise, in a magic atmosphere who reveals the secrets of a vibrant city.
 The smallest room on our Europe Tour, but also the most expensive.
Not all rooms have a canal view.
On arrival your passport is taken for validation with the Police. Wasn't comfortable with the practice, but aparently standard practice in Venice hotels..?
We were provided a set of rules (in French which I don't understand), almost hostel like and treating you like a child. You have to sign it.
