Great room overlooking pool and view to beach. Front desk staff helpful with tour and shuttle bookings. All spoke English, some better than others but we could all understand each other. House keeping staff extremely friendly. Happy hour at bar 5-6pm, did not eat at restaurant, although fellow visitors said meals very good. Several restaurants/bars within walking distance. Noumea can be pricey, but if you buy a few staples from supermarkets (juice, soft drinks, biscuits, cheese, fruit etc) you can reduce costs. Local bus stops outside hotel. Each trip costs XPF200 if ticket purchased from driver but if you purchase ticket from booth at main stop in gardens in town reduces to XPF170. Apparently there is a multiple use ticket available but couldn't find too out too much about this. - 09-Aug-2009 Room facilities a bit lacking; 1970s styling a bit dated! Also the balcony door self-locks, so when you go out to the balcony, and then close the door behind you to prevent mosquito ingress, it locks shut and you must abseil down the side of the building (actually, for us the other door was unlocked so we could get back in). This was room 314.
Pool is good, beachfront good also. Staff very helpful.- 27-Mar-2008 The Hotel rooms could do with updating, but were clean & comfortable. The rooms had a beautiful outlook over the bay.- 28-Aug-2007 |
