The location of the hotel is a bit isolated. But the relaxing atmosphere and friendly staff make up for this. It is very efficiently run and had a few nice touches with the welcome drink on arrival and signing the leather bound register.
The food in the restaurant was marvelous and retiring to the lounge where there was a log fire was a nice way to finish off the day. The only downside was the noise from the road at the front of the hotel where the traffic seemed to go on all night. - 07-Sep-2005 A very nice hotel with canopy beds in the large rooms. Hotel has a nice view over the lake. If you ask the bus from Kuala Lumpur will drop you off at the hotel saving you a taxi. It is more expensive than many other hotels in the area but we felt it was worth it. I would not say the same for the restaurant. Meals were quite expensive for Malaysia and the quality was very inconsistent. Unfortunately unless you have a car there is nowhere else to eat nearby, you have to take a taxi into the nearest town. So we would have a big lunch and bought things to take back to the hotel to eat.
The hike above the hotel was quite interesting and free.- 07-Sep-2005 Landscape of the hotel is beautiful. The gardens were well kept. Bathrooms were huge. The staff were really nice. Because it was low season period, they gave us a free upgrade for our family of 5. Enjoyable experience. However, the restaurant is really lacking in a decent choice for good selection. Meals were also very expensive. Not value for money.- 07-Sep-2005 |
