If staying on Fraser Island I would definitely recommend staying at Kingfisher.- 09-Nov-2008 This is a beautiful resort and we enjoyed stating there, but there were some unnecessary disappointments. We were irritated by the lack of basics such as tea towels in the otherwise luxurious accommodation. Other resorts manage a welcoming bottle of sparking wine - a cheap way of making the tired arriving customer feel valued.
Dining in the main restaurant was a disappointment - the food was OK but there were just not enough staff. Even though they were overworked the attitude of indifference from some staff was unacceptable.
Most of the staff we encountered were helpful, knowledgeable and courteous, but some had insufficient command of English to respond to basic questions.
Overall a fantastic resort that feels as though money is so short that the customer experience is being neglected.- 05-Jan-2008 We mainly used the resort to refuel and rechare our energy batteries... we would have loved to have had time to relax and just enjoy the resort facilities but we were there to explore the island. The time we did spend at the resort was perfect :)
