 My first night at the K-Porte Inn was a nightmare as I was located directly above the Hotel Night Club which was open every night until 3am and was exceptionally loud. The reception when approached on the matter was not very helpful but on the 2nd night I was given a transfer to the 5th floor where although the Night Club could still be heard it was tolerable. I tended to get the impression that the Hotel was more interested in entertaining local people rather than looking after the guests interests. As you may have guessed if I should visit Dubai again there is no way I would stay at this Hotel or ever recommend it.- 08-Jan-2008 The K-Porte is clearly not one of the better known hotels in Dubai as our taxi driver had to call on route to learn its exact location.
We were very satisifed with the hotel though. The staff were pleasant and efficient. The room had quiet but effective air conditioning which was essential given that the temperature was 39 degrees at midnight.
Breakfast was not inclued in the room rate but was very reasonable at only 15 Dirhams (about two UK pounds).
Overall I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.- 03-Sep-2007 The hotel brochure shows photos that gives a greater sense of luxury standard. The room carpets can do with changing otherwise the room was fine with air conditioning but no tea facilities. We thought that there was free Internet access in the room (Aug 2007) but found out that the Internet was only accessible in the hotel lobby and we had to pay to either use one computer available or gain wireless access with our laptops. The pool bar looks older and less attractive than in the hotel brochure. Smoking is allowed in the hotel lobby (annoying). Overall though the service was good. Staff were friendly and accommodating. We arrived early and were allowed in our rooms. There is a free bus service in the morning to a beach and the afternoon to a shopping mall. The airport bus is also free. The hotel is located in a good area. There are two nightclubs opened until 3pm with girls dancing and singing on the stage. No male dancing allowed. - 30-Aug-2007 |
